Our Rutherford Classes are a vibrant and welcoming learning environment designed to support the unique needs of our primary-aged learners. Located within Arahunga School, these classes provide a safe and inclusive space where learners can engage fully in both specialist programmes and everyday school life alongside their peers.

Our dedicated teaching team works collaboratively to meet the individual learning needs of each ākonga, while providing strong pastoral care that is essential to their overall wellbeing and success. We take pride in supporting learners to develop independence, confidence, and a love of learning. Our team is passionate, committed, and focused on helping students reach their full potential.

Rutherford Classes offer small class sizes with a high staffing ratio, ensuring access to quality specialist programmes tailored to each learner. We place a strong emphasis on literacy and numeracy, delivering targeted teaching every day.

Our learners also enjoy a wide range of additional activities designed to enrich their learning experiences. These include swimming, dance, kapa haka, cooking, bike riding, and community-based workshops, providing opportunities for skill development, creativity, and fun.
