Junior Classes 1 and 2
Our two junior classes welcome our youngest Ākonga as they begin their school journey, typically between the ages of five and seven. These bright, nurturing spaces are designed to support a calm and positive transition into school life for learners with complex needs.
Each classroom opens directly into a spacious, well-resourced outdoor area that encourages exploration, movement, and play-based learning. This environment provides rich opportunities for sensory regulation, social interaction, and the development of early communication skills.
Inside the classroom, structured and intentional teaching programmes are carefully tailored to each learner. Our highly skilled kaiako and support staff work closely with whānau to create personalised learning pathways that build early literacy, numeracy, communication, and self-management skills. Visual supports, routines, and predictable transitions help students feel safe, confident, and ready to learn.
Across both classes, we foster curiosity, independence, and a love of learning through meaningful, hands-on experiences. Our focus is on building strong foundations—academically, socially, and emotionally—so every child can thrive as they move through their schooling.
Junior Class 3 & Campus Middle 4
Alongside our two new entrant classes, we also have two additional classrooms that support our junior and middle school Ākonga as they continue to grow, learn, and develop their independence.
Junior Class 3 provides a nurturing, structured environment for learners who are ready for the next steps after their initial transition into school. The focus remains on building communication, social skills, emotional regulation, and early academic foundations, while gently extending learning through rich, hands-on experiences. Strong relationships with whānau continue to guide each child’s personalised pathway.
Campus Middle 4 offers specialist, highly individualised programmes designed to meet the unique strengths, needs, and goals of our older primary learners. Kaiako work closely with families and our wider support team to create meaningful learning experiences that build confidence, communication, wellbeing, and independence. Every Ākonga is valued for who they are and supported to progress in ways that make sense for them.
We are also in the exciting process of developing a new playground for this area of the campus—purposefully designed with our older students in mind. This space will reflect their interests, developmental needs, and the importance of movement, sensory exploration, and social connection.
Across both Junior 3 and Campus Middle 4, every learner receives a personalised programme that celebrates their strengths and supports them to thrive. Whānau are welcomed as key partners every step of the way.
Alongside our four classroom spaces, our therapy team, management team, and administration staff are also based at the Konini Street Campus, making it a central and connected hub for our school community.
